Dr. Elizabeth K. Hale, MD, Dermatologist
Dr. Elizabeth K. Hale is a board certified dermatologist and a Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology at the New York University of School of Medicine.  She specializes in Mohs micrographic surgery, dermatologic surgery, cosmetic dermatology, and laser surgery.  After graduating cum laude from Cornell University, Dr. Hale received her medical degree from NYU where she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honors society.  She was also the recipient of the American Medical Women’s Association Citation and the Marion Sulzberger Dermatology Award at NYU.  Dr. Hale served as chief resident at the Ronald O. Perleman Department of Dermatology at NYU, and was selected to receive the Morris Leider award for Excellence in Dermatology.  
 
Dr. Hale has extensive experience in the field of skin cancer and is a long-time advocate for increasing public awareness around the disease. She frequently volunteers her time on screening initiatives such as The Skin Cancer Foundation's Road to Healthy Skin Tour as well as skin cancer screenings for many major NYC corporations and public speaking events about the early detection and treatment of skin cancer. She serves as the featured dermatologist every year at the NYU Cancer Center Annual Skin Cancer Awareness Luncheon and also lectures frequently in support of Mollie's Fund. Dr. Hale currently practices at the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of NY and teaches advanced dermatologic surgery to the New York University dermatology residents.
 
Dr. Hale has received the Surgical Attending of the Year Award from NYU's dermatology residents and in 2011 she received the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society teaching award, which is given annually to one NYU voluntary faculty member for his/her dedication to teaching.
 
Dr. Hale serves as the co-director of the NYU Procedural Dermatology Fellowship and of the Advances in Dermatology symposium held at NYU every June. She was also appointed a vice president of the Skin Cancer Foundation in 2011. Dr. Hale has published numerous articles and chapters in the field of dermatology and co-authored the Dermatologic Surgery Handbook, which is used to train dermatology residents nationwide.
 
In 2012, for the third time, Dr. Elizabeth Hale was selected to the New York Times Magazine list of New York “Super Doctors,” based on a survey of other physicians in the New York area as to who they would choose for their own medical care. Dr. Hale was also selected as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor in 2012.

Dr. Hale has been featured on the Dr. Oz Show, the Today Show and has been quoted in online and print publications including Glamour, Ladies’ Home Journal, Vogue, ModernMedicine.com, Lucky and Fitness among many others. She lectures extensively on the early detection of skin cancer as well as the treatment of photoaging with the latest advances in lasers and injectables.
