Xanthelasma

Xanthelasma is a condition in which cholesterol deposits form around the upper and lower eyelids and looks like flat, yellow plaques. These do not indicate that the patient has high cholesterol and are generally of a cosmetic concern. Erbium and carbon dioxide lasers can be used to improve these cholesterol deposits. Generally, 1-2 weeks of healing is required after each laser treatment, and multiple treatments are usually necessary.
