Hylaform

Hylaform is a filler made from hyaluronic acid which is derived from rooster combs. Hylaform is a soft filler used for the treatment of medium-depth wrinkles. Hylaform plus is composed of larger particles and used for the treatment of deeper furrows or enhancing lip volume. Hylaform is injected underneath the skin to improve fine lines, hollows and creases. Topical anesthetics may be applied to the treated area prior to injection to minimize discomfort.

Is allergy testing necessary prior to Hylaform treatment?

Although Hylaform is derived from rooster combs, it contains no animal products. Allergy testing is not necessary before Hylaform treatment; however, Hylaform is contraindicated in people with autoimmune or inflammatory disease, history of severe allergies or anaphylaxis, immunosuppression and patients who are pregnant or breast feeding.

What are the potential side effects of Hylaform treatement?

Hylaform can cause redness or swelling for 1-2 days after treatment. Hylaform injections into the skin can also result in bruising which can take up to a week to resolve.

When will I see results?

Hylaform treatment gives immediate results.

How long will the results last?

Hylaform lasts approximately 3-6 months.
