Dr. Roy Geronemus
Dr. Roy Geronemus will be receiving the “Physician of the Year” award
from the Hemangioma Vascular Birthmark Foundation this November. The
award will be presented to Dr. Geronemus by the foundation at their
annual meeting in New York City.
Dr. Roy Geronemus has been listed in New York Magazine’s Best Doctors
for 2008. It is the 13th time that he has been selected for this honor.

Dr. Leonard Bernstein was nominated and chosen as the next President of the Manhattan-Metropolitan Dermatologic Society. Dr. Bernstein has graciously accepted the appointment.

Dr. Roy Geronemus receives the Leon Goldman Memorial Award
The Leon Goldman Memorial Award was awarded to Dr. Geronemus by The
American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery at the annual meeting
in Boston, April 2006. This award was established in 1998 to recognize
the many contributions in the areas of clinical laser research, laser
patient care, and medical laser education of Leon Goldman, M.D.. The
award is given to a practicing physician who has demonstrated qualities
of excellence performing clinical laser research, providing high
quality laser services to patients or educating other in medical laser
applications. The individual must also share the characteristics of
honesty, high ethical standards and dedication to patients that were
possessed by its namesake.
Roy Geronemus, M.D. to be honored at the Sturge-Weber Foundation annual dinner
On March 3, 2006, the Sturge-Weber Foundation will hold its annual
dinner honoring Dr. Roy Geronemus in San Francisco, California. This
particular foundation was developed to support for families as well as
patients and to provide research funding for scientists who are helping
find a cure for this disease. The Sturge-Weber Syndrome consists of
port wine stains for the face in conjunction with glaucoma and/or
seizure disorders. Dr. Geronemus was chosen as an honoree as a
consequence of his work in the treatment of patients with the
Sturge-Weber Syndrome and his efforts to help support research of the
syndrome. It was anticipated that over 300 guests will be attending in
San Francisco.
Dr. Roy Geronemus named President of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS)
Dr. Roy Geronemus, Director of the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of
New York, was named President of the American Society of Laser Medicine
and Surgery at the Society’s 25th annual scientific meeting held in
Orlando, Florida on March 30-April 1, 2005 and will serve as ASLMS
president for one year. ASLMS is the world’s largest professional
organization dedicated to promoting excellence in patient care by
advancing laser applications and related technologies.
