Rhinophyma before laser treatment
Rhinophyma is an overgrowth of sebaceous or oily glands of the nose. It is a bulbous nose that is commonly found in men. Men are more likely to develop this condition than women. Treatment of this bulbous appearance of the nose usually involves different resurfacing procedures such as carbon dioxide laser as well as electrosurgery. These procedures used together help smooth the texture of the nose. These procedures are typically performed in the office setting by a board certified dermatologic surgeon using local anesthesia, and the treatment is also available with IV sedation administered by a board certified anesthesiologist. It is a very popular procedure at our Center, and our patients are extremely happy with the results.
