CO2RE® from Candela is a versatile fractional CO2 system featuring a 10,600nm wavelength that provides precision when targeting and effectively treating the skin’s surface, middle, and deep dermal levels. This versatile laser offers a wide range of treatment intensities to treat everything from a dull complexion to advanced signs of aging.

The board-certified physicians at the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York have an extensive range of laser devices that allow us to customize all our patient’s treatments to ensure an optimal outcome. We have the experience and expertise to help you meet all your aesthetic goals with comfortable treatments and minimal downtime in most cases. Our team would be happy to meet with you to discuss your concerns and create a personalized treatment plan to keep you looking and feeling your absolute best.

How does the CO2RE Laser Work?

This integrated laser device can perform both fractional and resurfacing treatments, depending on the exact needs of each patient. Fractional lasers work by creating micro-channels in the dermal layers to trigger collagen production and cell renewal. This approach allows for deeper treatment while minimizing discomfort and downtime for the patient.

Ablative resurfacing removes dermal tissue in thin, precise layers to reveal smoother, more youthful skin underneath. The process requires anesthetic and downtime, but the results can be quite dramatic and long-lasting.

What does the CO2RE Laser Treat?

This versatile laser can treat a wide range of concerns, with the ability to customize the procedure to the precise needs of each of our patients. Some of the issues addressed by this device include:

When Will I See Results?

Results will become visible once the skin has healed from the procedure. For light treatments, this may occur within 2-3 days. Deeper treatments may require up to 2 weeks or more of healing before you start to see your improvements come to life.

How Long is the Recovery Time After Treatment?

Recovery can vary from a couple of days for a lighter treatment to 2 weeks or more for a more intense procedure. Your doctor will discuss your procedure with you before you undergo treatment so you know what to expect from your healing process. You will also have multiple follow-up visits with your provider to monitor your recovery process.

Questions and Answers

Q: Is The CO2RE Laser Safe?

A: Yes. The CO2RE was approved by the FDA in 2010 to treat a variety of skin conditions, including aging, sun damage, and scarring. Our board-certified physicians have extensive experience using this device and will use their expertise to customize your treatment so it is as safe and effective as possible.

Q: How Many Treatments Will I Need?

A: Most patients will achieve the full effects of their treatment after a single treatment session.

Q: How Long Do Results Last?

A: The duration of your results will depend on the depth of your treatment. Superficial procedures offer improvements that last many months, while deep treatments produce dramatic results that can last for many years.

Q: Are There Any Side Effects?

A: Side effects can vary based on the treatment depth. Light treatments may be accompanied by redness and mild swelling that lasts a few days. Patients that undergo deep treatments might experience redness, burning, and peeling that is a part of the natural exfoliation process. Your doctor will provide you with instructions to care for your skin after treatment to prevent potential complications and enhance the healing process.

Q: Am I A Good Candidate For CO2RE Treatments?

A: This treatment is appropriate for patients who have specific skin concerns they would like to address, including sun damage, aging symptoms, and visible scarring. Our doctors have the expertise necessary to tailor your treatment to your precise needs to produce the best possible outcome.
