Active FX & Deep FX
The Lumenis Active FX and Deep FX laser targets specific areas of the skin to remove fine lines and photodamage. We offer both of these fractional CO2 laser treatments in our New York City office. Fractional lasers penetrate deep into the dermal layers via micro-channels, triggering healing at the cellular level while minimizing discomfort and downtime. Active FX is recommended for patients with mild to moderate damage and signs of aging, while Deep FX works on more severe symptoms.
The board-certified physicians at the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York have an extensive range of laser devices that allow us to customize all our patients’ treatments to ensure an optimal outcome. We have the experience and expertise to help you meet all your aesthetic goals with comfortable treatments and minimal downtime in most cases. Our team would be happy to meet with you to discuss your concerns and create a personalized treatment program to keep you looking and feeling your absolute best.
What is Active FX?
Active FX is a high energy laser beam treatment solution for sun-damaged or wrinkled skin. It treats only a fraction of the skin at a time, which allows for faster healing. The treatment causes the upper layer of skin to peel off, revealing a layer of healthy skin underneath.
What is Deep FX?
Deep FX is used in skin resurfacing to treat deep wrinkles. This treatment also uses a fractionated pattern as the laser hits the skin to allow for a quicker healing time. However, the deep heating created with DeepFX allows for collagen tightening and is ideal to treat wrinkles around the mouth and eyes.
What do Active FX and Deep FX Treat?
ActiveFX and DeepFX can treat the following concerns:
When Will I See Results?
Cosmetic benefits become noticeable within the first few days, but full results will take some time to develop as the treatment stimulates collagen production for healing at a cellular level. Most patients will continue to see improvement for up to 6 months after their treatment.
How Long is the Recovery Time After Treatment?
You should be able to resume your activities within a few days following your laser treatment. Specific recovery time varies based on the depth and intensity of the treatment. It is critical to protect treated skin from sun damage to prevent possible damage.
