Halo Hybrid Fractional Laser

halo laser device

HALO, the world’s first hybrid fractional laser, combines non-ablative (1470nm) and ablative (2940nm) wavelengths to a single treatment zone to maximize results and reduce downtime. The new technology from Sciton offers targeted results that improve the appearance of numerous skin conditions

The board-certified physicians at the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York have an extensive range of laser devices that allow us to customize all our patient’s treatments to ensure an optimal outcome. We have the experience and expertise to help you meet all your aesthetic goals with comfortable treatments and minimal downtime in most cases. Our team would be happy to meet with you to discuss your concerns and create a personalized treatment plan to keep you looking and feeling your absolute best.

How does the Halo Hybrid Fractional Laser Work?

The Halo hybrid fractional laser combines non-ablative (no wounding of the skin) and ablative (temporary wounding if the skin) technology to treat a variety of skin concerns. Our doctors perform this procedure with either topical anesthesia or local anesthesia.

Non-ablative lasers create micro-channels in the skin to stimulate the body’s own healing processes. As cell turnover occurs and collagen levels increase, the skin becomes smoother, clearer, and more youthful from the inside out.

Ablative lasers vaporize outermost layers of skin cells, causing healing in the dermal tissue below and revealing healthier, more radiant skin. These lasers typically require more recovery time, but the results can be dramatic and long-lasting. The two types of lasers can also be combined in a single treatment to produce the best possible results for the patient.

What does the Halo Hybrid Fractional Laser Treat?

This versatile device effectively addresses a vast range of skin concerns, including:

When Will I See Results?

It takes 1-2 weeks to heal from a Halo laser treatment. During that time, you will notice skin redness, followed by flaking and peeling, and then a rosy glow that will subside over time. At that point, you will see improvement in your skin that will continue over the next 6 months.

How Long is the Recovery Time After Treatment?

While you can likely return to your activities the same day or the next day, the skin will go through a recovery process for about two weeks. It is imperative to protect the skin from the sun while it heals to avoid permanent damage.

Questions and Answers

Q: Is The Halo Hybrid Fractional Laser Safe?

A: Yes. This device was approved by the FDA in 2014 and has a track record of safety and efficacy. Our board-certified physicians have extensive experience using this device and will use their expertise to customize your treatment so it is as safe and effective as possible.

Q: How Many Treatments Will I Need?

A: Patients often achieve their full results with a single treatment session. However, some might require a second appointment to produce an optimal outcome. Your doctor will assess your concerns and goals in-person to create a personalized treatment plan that works best for you.

Q: How Long Do Results Last?

A: Most Halo treatments produce long-lasting results. You can schedule the occasional touch-up treatment to maintain your results indefinitely. Your doctor will help you create a treatment schedule to produce the best outcome for you.

Q: Are There Any Side Effects?

A: You will experience some side effects as your skin heals from the Halo laser treatment. For the first few days, your skin is likely to be red and tender, similar to what you feel when you have a sunburn. That phase will be followed by a week or so of flaking and peeling as the dry dead skin cells shed to reveal softer, smoother dermal tissue below. Finally, your skin will sport a rosy glow for approximately another week before your improvements become fully evident.

Q: Am I A Good Candidate For Halo Hybrid Fractional Laser Treatments?

A: This treatment is often recommended to patients who want to see a reduction in aging symptoms and improvement in the appearance of the skin overall. The procedure is appropriate for both men and women of all ages and can be safely used on a wide range of skin tones.
