Cynergy Laser

The Cynergy™ laser is manufactured by Cynosure. It is a vascular laser that uses a combination of both the 595 nm and the 1064 nm wavelengths simultaneously to achieve an optimal result. At the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York, the Cynergy laser is a popular choice to treat port-wine stains, hemangiomas, and telangiectases.

The board-certified physicians at the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York have an extensive range of laser devices that allow us to customize all our patient’s treatments to ensure an optimal outcome. We have the experience and expertise to help you meet all your aesthetic goals with comfortable treatments and minimal downtime in most cases. Our team would be happy to meet with you to discuss your concerns and create a personalized treatment plan to keep you looking and feeling your absolute best.

How does the Cynergy Laser Work?

The Cynergy laser is the first of its kind to combine an nd:YAG laser with a long pulse pulse-dye laser in a single device. Both of these wavelengths are effective in targeting blood, making them an excellent choice for treating vascular lesions and visible veins. The combination of the two wavelengths increases the efficacy of this device, in its ability to treat even more challenging vascular concerns like port-wine stains.

The dual wavelengths offer more efficient results in a treatment that is both safe and comfortable for patients. Many patients will see full results in a single treatment session, with minimal discomfort and no downtime after the treatment.

What does the Cynergy Laser Treat?

The Cynergy laser can treat a wide range of vascular concerns, including:

  • Port-wine stains
  • Telangiectasia on the face and legs
  • Visible spider veins
  • Hemangiomas
  • Diffuse skin redness
  • Some rosacea symptoms

When Will I See Results?

The results of a Cynergy laser treatment typically develop soon after the treatment. In most cases, patients will see their full results in 1-2 weeks.

How Long is the Recovery Time After Treatment?

There is no recovery after the Cynergy laser procedure. After treatment, you should be able to resume your normal activities right away. Side effects are also minimal and will not impact your appearance or your ability to carry out your daily routine.

Questions and Answers

Q: Is The Cynergy Laser Safe?

A: Yes. The Cynergy laser has a long track record of both safety and efficacy, gaining FDA approval in 2005. Since that time, thousands of patients have reaped the benefits of this laser, eliminating unsightly vascular issues like visible veins and port-wine stains. Our board-certified physicians have extensive experience using this device and will use their expertise to customize your treatment so it is as safe and effective as possible.

Q: How Many Treatments Will I Need?

A: Most patients will achieve their full results with a single treatment session using the Cynergy laser. Your doctor will assess your specific concern in person and let you know what you might expect from your treatment plan before your procedure begins.

Q: How Long Do Results Last?

A: Since the vascular lesion or visible vein is eliminated, the results are considered long-lasting. However, it is possible new veins could form, requiring additional procedures. Talk to your doctor about how to reduce your risk fo developing more spider veins if this is a concern.

Q: Are There Any Side Effects?

A: One of the most attractive features of the Cynergy laser is that it rarely causes noticeable side effects. You might experience some slight redness or swelling, which will likely subside within hours of your procedure.

Q: Am I A Good Candidate For Cynergy Laser Treatments?

A: This device might be the right choice for you if you are embarrassed by spider veins, hemangiomas, or a port-wine birthmark. The laser is appropriate for men and women and works on a variety of skin tones. We are happy to schedule a consultation with you to determine whether the Cynergy laser is your best option.
