ABOUT
Board-certified cosmetic dermatologist, Roy G. Geronemus, M.D., Director of Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York®, graduated from Harvard University and pursued his medical education at the University of Miami School of Medicine. He trained in dermatology at the New York University Medical Center where he was the chief resident and subsequently underwent a fellowship training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology. He is a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at New York University Medical Center where he founded its laser program and served nine years as chief of dermatologic and laser surgery. He is past president of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery. Dr. Geronemus is the Chairman of the Board of the New York Stem Cell Foundation and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Navaderm Partners, LLC, in New York City. |

The American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery has awarded Dr. Geronemus with the Ellet Drake Award for outstanding contributions to laser medicine and the Leon Goldman Award for excellence in clinical laser research. The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) has awarded him the Samuel J. Stegman Award for distinguished service and the University of Miami School of Medicine has elected him into their Alumni Hall of Fame. He has received the Physician of the Year honor from the Vascular Birthmark Foundation and was also awarded their Humanitarian Award in 2014.
Dr. Geronemus received the inaugural Vic Narurkar, M.D., Innovations in Aesthetic Dermatology Lectureship Award from the ASDS in 2019 for advancing the craft and art of aesthetic dermatology through innovation, creativity, and technology. He has been recognized by New York Magazine as one of New York’s top dermatologists 26 times and voted one of the New York Times Magazine’s Super Doctors 17 times. He has also been rated one of America’s Top Doctors 20 times and America’s Top Doctors for Cancer 16 times.
In 2020, the Blade and Light Society awarded Dr. Geronemus the Mentor of the Year title. Dr. Geronemus was in the Top 15 most-published doctors in Dermatologic Surgery, the premiere, peer-reviewed medical journal in dermatology. In 2023, Dr. Geronemus was named one of America’s Best Cosmetic Dermatologists by Newsweek, ranking number 4 out of 150 esteemed physicians and up 3 places from 2022. He has been named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor every year since 1999. He has also published over 300 manuscripts, chapters, and books.
