New York City’s most experienced and comprehensive Fraxel laser program is at the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York®.  We offer a variety of Fraxel systems, including the Fraxel Dual, Fraxel Re:Pair, Clear & Brilliant, Clear & Brilliant Permea devices. All of these devices underwent clinical development at our center and our physicians have published many articles on their work. Our physicians consult regularly with Fraxel manufacturer Solta Medical in an effort to improve the technology and techniques.

The board-certified physicians at the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York have an extensive range of laser devices that allow us to customize all our patient’s treatments to ensure an optimal outcome. We have the experience and expertise to help you meet all your aesthetic goals with comfortable treatments and minimal downtime in most cases. Our team would be happy to meet with you to discuss your concerns and create a personalized treatment plan to keep you looking and feeling your absolute best.

How does Fraxel Dual Work?

The Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York® physicians utilize non- ablative (no wounding of the skin) and ablative (temporary wounding if the skin) Fraxel lasers for a variety of skin concerns. The Fraxel procedures are performed with either topical anesthesia or local anesthesia. For some patients, general anesthesia is provided as an option.

Non-ablative lasers create micro-channels in the skin to stimulate the body’s own healing processes. As cell turnover occurs and collagen levels increase, the skin becomes smoother, clearer, and more youthful from the inside out.

Ablative lasers vaporize outermost layers of skin cells, causing healing in the dermal tissue below and revealing healthier, more radiant skin. These lasers typically require more recovery time, but the results can be dramatic and long-lasting. The two types of lasers can also be combined in a single treatment to produce the best possible results for the patient.

What does Fraxel Re:store Dual Treat?

The Fraxel Dual, formerly known as Fraxel Re:store Dual, is a versatile treatment that can be used to address a vast range of skin concerns, including:

When Will I See Results?

Results of your Fraxel Dual will start to develop as the skin heals, which typically takes about one week. However, full improvements can continue to progress for 1-2 months after treatment.

How Long is the Recovery Time After Treatment?

You can expect to have about 1-7 days of social downtime, as the skin will be somewhat red and swollen during that time. After that period, you may see another few days of flaking. However, you should be able to return to regular activities at that time, with little evidence you had a procedure performed.

Dr. Robert Anolik is featured on NBC's Today Show to discuss the possibilities of laser skin treatments, NYC, NY.

Questions and Answers

Q: Is Fraxel Re:store Dual Safe?

A: Yes. The Fraxel laser was originally approved by the FDA in 2005, demonstrating a long track record of safety and efficacy. Our board-certified physicians have extensive experience using this device and will use their expertise to customize your treatment so it is as safe and effective as possible.

Q: How Many Treatments Will I Need?

A: Patients often achieve their full results with a single treatment session. However, some might require a series of appointments to produce an optimal outcome. Your doctor will assess your concerns and goals in-person to create a personalized treatment plan that works best for you.

Q: How Long Do Results Last?

A: Fraxel results can be long-lasting. You can take steps to extend your results by using medical-grade skincare products and protecting your skin from the sun daily.

Q: Are There Any Side Effects?

A: For the first 2-3 days after your treatment, you may experience redness and swelling similar to a sunburn. During the next 2-3 days, you may see some flaking and peeling of the skin as the outer dermis is eliminated to reveal a smoother, more youthful layer of dermal tissue below.

Q: Am I A Good Candidate For Fraxel Re:pair Treatments?

A: You might be a good candidate for Fraxel Re:store Dual if you have aging symptoms, residual scarring, or sun damage you want to reduce or eliminate. This procedure works on both men and women and a wide range of skin tones. You must be prepared to take a few days of downtime to give yourself time to heal.
