With a powerful 532 nm KTP laser and two 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser modes, the Cutera Excel V™ system offers the ability to treat a wide range of vascular conditions in a single system, along with efficient cooling and excellent visibility of the treatment area.

The board-certified physicians at the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York have an extensive range of laser devices that allow us to customize all our patient’s treatments to ensure an optimal outcome. We have the experience and expertise to help you meet all your aesthetic goals with comfortable treatments and minimal downtime in most cases. Our team would be happy to meet with you to discuss your concerns and create a personalized treatment plan to keep you looking and feeling your absolute best.

How does the Excel V Laser Work?

The Excel V offers two different lasers, which each target different skin concerns. In addition, the treatment settings can be customized by depth and according to your skin tone to ensure an optimal outcome. When treating vascular concerns, the laser targets the blood to coagulate the vessel so it collapses. The body then reabsorbs the treated vein over time.

When treating brown spots, the laser targets the melanin in the skin. These spots will usually darken a few days after treatment before sloughing off the skin. Since the lesion is eliminated, the results of an Excel V treatment are long-lasting. To learn more about treating visible veins, watch our online webinar

Questions and Answers

Q: Is The Excel V Laser Safe?

A: Yes. The Excel V laser was approved by the FDA in 2010 and has a full decade of safety and success in the US. Our board-certified physicians have extensive experience using this device and will use their expertise to customize your treatment so it is as safe and effective as possible.

Q: How Many Treatments Will I Need?

A: Many patients will enjoy full results after a single treatment, while others require a series of sessions to achieve an optimal outcome. Your doctor will create a personalized treatment plan for you after assessing you in person to ensure you enjoy the best possible results.

Q: How Long Do Results Last?

A: Since the visible vessel or age spots will be eliminated, the results will be long-lasting. However, you could develop more spots or spider veins over time, which would necessitate additional treatment. To lower your risk for a recurrence, always wear sun protection and talk to your doctor about steps to prevent future spider veins from forming.

Q: Are There Any Side Effects?

A: There are few, if any, side effects after an Excel V treatment. Some patients experience mild redness or swelling, similar to a sunburn. Symptoms are usually minimal and subside within a day or two.

Q: Am I A Good Candidate For Excel V Treatments?

A: This device is a good option for men and women that have brown spots or vascular lesions they would like to eliminate. The Excel V works on a broad range of skin tones and can be effective for patients of all ages. Our board-certified physicians are happy to discuss your concerns and goals in person so they can create the most effective, customized treatment plan for you.
