cellfina laser treatment specialists in nyc

Cellulite is a common condition seen mostly in adult women and has multiple causes, including genetics and hormones.  This skin concern can significantly impact a woman’s self-confidence in her appearance. Fortunately, cellulite can now be successfully treated with a minimally-invasive treatment that targets the larger dimpling often seen on the buttocks and thighs.

The Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York® is thrilled to offer Cellfina™, by Merz. Cellfina is the only FDA-cleared minimally invasive procedure clinically proven to clear the underlying causes of cellulite for at least two years, the longest FDA clearance for a cellulite treatment. In just one 45-minute treatment, Cellfina™ significantly improves the appearance of cellulite on the buttocks and thighs. The result? A smooth, healthy look and the confidence to wear a little black dress or a pair of shorts and know you look as terrific as you feel.

How does Cellfina Work?

Cellfina uses a technique known as subcision to release the fibrous bands and smooth away the dimpled appearance of the skin. Once the areas are appropriately numbed, the Cellfina system releases these bands and with them, the overlying skin – resulting in a smoothed out appearance.

Depending on the number of areas of concern, this can be a very quick treatment with most recovering in up to three days. Cellulite treatment results can be seen in a matter of days to weeks and have been shown to last for years.  The Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York is proud to be one of the first centers in the world to have worked with this device.

Questions and Answers

Q: Is Cellfina Safe?

A: Yes. Cellfina was approved by the FDA in 2015 for the treatment of cellulite. Our board-certified physicians have treated hundreds of patients using this device, with a strong record of both safety and success.

Q: How Many Treatments Will I Need?

A: Patients typically see the full effects after a single Cellfina treatment. If cellulite reappears over time, you might need a subsequent treatment to maintain your positive results. However, this is not a common issue with our patients.

Q: How Long Do Results Last?

A: Results of a Cellfina treatment can be very long-lasting. Some of our patients enjoy their improvement for many years. If you notice the dimpling start to form once again, you can schedule another treatment to maintain your smooth result.

Q: Are There Any Side Effects?

A: There is a recovery process after Cellfina. You may experience some bruising, swelling, and tenderness in the treatment area. Most patients are ready to return to their regular activities within a few days. While side effects may persist for longer, they are not usually severe enough to restrict your daily routine.

Q: Am I A Good Candidate For Cellfina Treatments?

A: Cellfina may be a good option for you if you have cellulite on your thighs and buttocks that makes you self-conscious about your appearance. Our doctors are happy to meet with you in person to help you determine whether Cellfina is the right treatment choice for you.
