RHA Fillers

RHA fillers are an innovative line of dermal fillers that contain resilient hyaluronic acid or RHA. This new formulation allows for treatment in dynamic wrinkles, like those that form on the forehead and around the eyes. Previously only treated with neuromodulators like Botox, RHA fillers effectively fill in these lines while preserving the natural movement of the treatment area. Radiesse from Merz can improve the appearance of deeper wrinkles, nasolabial folds, and acne scarring. It is also used to contour the face. Radiesse consists of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) particles suspended in a hyaluronic acid gel. With this unique formulation, results are gradual yet longer-lasting, as the CaHA microspheres form a “scaffold” which stimulates collagen production in and around the treated areas. Over time, the gel carrier is absorbed and replaced by the body’s own collagen.

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that is responsible for keeping the skin plump and hydrated. A type of hyaluronic acid (HA) filler by Merz, Belotero can treat moderate-to-severe nasolabial folds, vertical lip lines, marionette lines, and can also be injected around the eyes. Because of its unique formulation, it may be less likely to cause lumpiness or discoloration compared to other HA products.
