The MACS facelift addresses sagging tissues in the neck, cheeks, chin, and around the nose. It uses a short scar technique, with an upward pull, and minimal undermining of skin. The upward pull, as opposed to up and back, is more natural, as it counteracts the effects of gravity. There is less lifting up of the skin compared to traditional lifts.

Otoplasty, also known as ear pinning or ear pinback, is done to correct protruding ears. The treatment enhances the position of the ears, to place them closer to the sides of the head. The procedure can be performed on patients of all ages and is one of the few plastic surgery procedures recommended for children.

Over time, the effects of gravity along with the loss of the skin’s natural elasticity begins to have an effect on the appearance of a woman’s breasts. These factors, combined with pregnancies and nursing will often cause the breasts to lose their youthful shape and firmness. Liposuction (also known as “lipoplasty” or “suction lipectomy”) sculpts the body by removing undesirable fat from areas around the thighs, knees, buttocks, waist, hips, abdomen, chin, cheeks, neck and upper arms. Dr. Hoffman is one of the few plastic surgeons who is able to stand the patient up during the procedure to see the effects of gravity. With the patient in the standing position, precise contouring can take place.

Male Gynecomastia is a medical term, also known as enlarged male breasts, where the breast tissue swells. It can occur to men of all ages and can be very damaging to a man’s self-esteem. Gynecomastia can be treated either through liposuction and/or cutting and removing excess glandular tissues. The end result is a chest that is flatter and more masculine.

After our skin is injured, the body begins the healing process by creating a scar, but sometimes these scars can develop into what’s called a keloid or hypertrophic scars. There are several methods of removing Keloids including steroid injections, surgery, lasers, silicone sheets, and cryotherapy (freezing the keloid with liquid nitrogen), as well as laser. After examination, your plastic surgeon can explain to you which method is ideal in your situation.

Deciding whether to remove the atypical mole(s) is done on a case-by-case basis. If your family has a history of melanoma, you should be closely checked for signs of melanoma. Your plastic surgeon will review these issues with you as well as the design of the excision, in order to achieve the best possible cosmetic result.
